Review request emails automatically ask customers to leave a product review after their order has been fulfilled. Positive reviews improve your store's credibility and can directly increase conversion rates for new visitors.
When it triggers
This campaign fires after an order is fulfilled (i.e., marked as shipped in Shopify). You set a delay to give the customer time to receive and try their purchase before asking for feedback — typically 7 to 14 days after fulfillment.
Setting the delay
Choose a delay that gives customers enough time to actually receive and use the product:
- Domestic orders — 7–10 days after fulfillment is a common starting point
- International orders — consider 14–21 days to account for longer shipping times
- Consumable products — wait until the customer has had time to try the product, often 14+ days
What to include in the email
A good review request email is short and specific. It should:
- Reference the specific product(s) the customer ordered
- Link directly to your Shopify product page or review platform
- Keep the ask simple — a few sentences at most
Use merge tags to include the customer's name and order details to make the email feel personal.
Filtering by order value
You may want to restrict review requests to orders above a certain value, or exclude certain product types. Use Filters and Targeting to set order total or product filters.
